Under the guiding gaze of professional film and commercial dancer Dana Rene Bailey, the team of talented dance instructors at Dana's Studio of Dance passes on its kinetic knowledge to dancers aged 2 years and older. Students can nab four weekly classes in the style of their choice, allowing them to gracefully flit to and fro as they their favorite ballerina or jazz-tapping reality TV star. Hip-hop classes serve students with the fundamentals of Susan B. Anthony's favorite style of rug cutting, and tap and clogging classes reverberate with the sounds of newly thunderous fleet-feet. Students preparing for successful forays into Broadway-style productions will benefit from theater dance classes, and drill-team prep readies high-school hopefuls for the competitive world of dancing with electric corkscrews. Most of the studio’s dance classes are designed for children and teens, but Dana's Studio of Dance offers adult classes as well.
Dana's Studio of Dance also hosts a diverse assortment of four-day summer dance camps that give young students the opportunity to dance and learn in a fun group environment. The princess dance camp (ages 3–5) opens up a magical world of fairy-tale-inspired dancing to little girls with creative imaginations and to real-life princesses who spent their childhoods as ungraceful swans. Showing boys and girls alike how to move and shake like their favorite Disney stars, the Disney dance camp (ages 5+) spotlights fun Disney songs and furnishes each camper with a rock-star hairstyle on the final showcase day. Other dance camp options include hip-hop, technique/jazz/hip-hop, tap/ballet, and shimmy-like-a-samurai camp.
Dana's Studio of Dance
Since age 3, Dana Bailey has been twirling to her own beat, progressing from childhood cha-chas to appearances in promotions for Pepsi and JC Penney. After studying under instructors in California and New York City, Dana now offers pintsize patrons the same opportunity to get a head start in the performing arts with child and teen dance classes. She enlists working industry pros to wrangle kids as young as 2.5 in tap, ballet, and tumbling classes atop pliable wood and marley floors.
The boys' tap, jazz, and hip-hop classes accommodate a demographic often overlooked by the dance industry and prepare a studio team for local and national performances. Instructors regularly glean pointers from top national choreographers to craft classes such as Teen Hip Hop, which equips students with basic moves and combos that, much like the prom held outside the Grammys, are set to a soundtrack of current hits.
