Sean Dorsey Dance, crowned San Francisco's Best Dance/Performance Company by SF Weekly, comes to Dance Place in Washington, D.C. with their latest dance-theater production. Created by trailblazing transgender choreographer Sean Dorsey, The Missing Generation gives voice to longtime survivors of the early AIDS epidemic. It's a love letter to those early victims of the disease and their heartbreaking experience of losing a generation of friends. Dorsey created the piece over a period of two years by conducting oral history interviews, archival research and community forums. Fifteen minutes before the performance begins, there will be a pre-show discussion led by Dance Place co-director Deborah Riley.
