Named one of the "25 to Watch" in 2012 by Dance Magazine and a recipient of five Metro D.C. Dance Awards, Tzveta Kassabova returns to Dance Place with a dynamic program of her critically-acclaimed works. The Bulgarian-born choreographer has a fascination with the concept of space and -- whether springing across the stage, or crawling across the floor -- she utilizes every inch of it while performing. The evening will feature the premiere of a new collaboration with New Jersey-based dance troupe Shua Group. The group specializes in movement-based artworks that encourage deep listening, human exchange and spatial transformation. Their new piece, performed by the Dance Company of Middlebury, explores abandonment, void and decay and offers up modern dance like you've never seen it before.
