Choreographer Francis Patrelle's special Old New York-set version of Tchaikovsky's timeless The Nutcracker graces the stage, with scenes depicting a holiday party at Gracie Mansion, dancing at the Crystal Palace and skating in Central Park. New York City Ballet principals Abi Stafford and Adrian Danchig-Waring star as the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier, backed by a talented company that includes dancers ages 5 to 85, along with Matthew Dibble, fresh off Twyla Tharp's 25th anniversary performances and Movin' Out, and Julie Voshell of Movin' Out.
The production runs two hours, including one intermission.
