Dandelions Cafe's executive chef John Mullan was inspired to dream up delicious, gluten-free recipes when his wife was diagnosed with Celiac disease. Today, guests to the restaurant can expect to find a menu of healthy, local, organic fare that includes plenty of gluten-free options. Standouts include a sausage and onion pizza, topped with house-made marinara, caramelized onions, Boulder Natural sausage, and baby Portobello mushrooms on a regular or gluten-free crust, as well as hearty sandwiches like a vegetarian reuben. Of course, health-consciousness isn't Chef Mullan's only influence—east coast cuisine is close to the New Jersey native's heart, and has inspired items such as his famous Jersey-style egg sandwich, which comes with fried eggs and smoked bacon or Taylor Ham.
