Katie Couric called Harley Newman a "man without fear," and when he stops by the Writer's Center in Bethesda, you'll see exactly what she means. In Harley Newman: Theater of Danger, the veteran stuntman and innovative sideshow entertainer performs some of his most death-defying acts, complete with his own personal physical and prop comedy stylings. Up to this point, he's done everything from walk barefoot across sharp swords to clear his sinuses with a high-heeled shoe. He's even lied on a bed of nails -- four nails, to be exact. Newman's stunts have landed him on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, the Today show and Comedy Central, but if you ask him, his most prestigious credit to date is being rejected by the Guinness World Records book for performing stunts "too dangerous to publish."
