I came here with a friend for her birthday and everything was WONDERFUL! Dazema was super sweet, accommodating (she managed to move things around so that both my friend and I could get our treatments done at the same time, even though she was the only technician/staff there), and thoughtful ! She offered me tea and a warm neck pillow while I waited for her to start on my friend. She checked in to see how everything was, and made adjustments if necessary. She was super knowledgeable and I learned a lot about skincare! We got the 90 min ultimate spa package and it was so relaxing and perfectly suited to each of our skin types. Thank you!! I will certainly be back.

It was the best facial and massage I’ve ever had. Dez was amazing, so professional, checked in to make sure the pressure was satisfactory and didn’t even laugh when I woke myself up from snoring! I can’t wait to go back and also refer my friends!

Tiffany Rose was absolutely wonderful and has the touch of an Angel. The salon is a diamond in the buff, well organized, clean and serene, The salon also offers other services, such as hairdresser, mani-pedi’s, micro needling and much more. I’ll be back for sure!!

The outside of the facility is misleading. The room was very relaxing, from the beginning Dez created an environment for relaxation including filling out your intake forms in a foot bath. My rating is average because the products during my facial smelt awful, her scalp & body massage were really bad, the table was uncomfortable, & I have no idea what brand of products were used (apricot scrub?).

This was my first time getting a facial and it was a great experience! My esthetician was Rose - she was very friendly and welcoming and explained what she was doing during each step of the facial. The atmosphere is comfy and relaxing. I will definitely be back!

Collagen and Elastin: The Hidden Benefactors of Youthful Skin

Some spa treatments can boost the production of collagen, which is vital to vibrant, youthful skin. Check out Groupon’s guide to the skin’s invisible foundation.

A cooked noodle bends because it’s saturated with water. On the other hand, a uncooked noodle is dry and brittle, making it easy to snap in half. The same principle applies to skin—well-moisturized skin is flexible and resilient, whereas dry skin is prone to structural damage. Beyond moisturizing, however, skin relies on two molecules—more specifically, two proteins—to maintain its youthful appearance: collagen and elastin. The most abundant protein in the animal kingdom, collagen helps tissues withstand stretching, resulting in plump, durable skin. Elastin, meanwhile, helps tissues stretch in the first place, forming bundles of elastic fibers that make the skin strong and flexible. Working in tandem, these two proteins give skin a taut, voluminous quality that’s prized among hot-air balloons. Even healthy skin is no match for nature, however. Factors such as aging and sun damage can drain the skin’s moisture and weaken its proteins, sapping it of its youth and vigor.

Although it’s impossible to actually reverse time, it is possible to regenerate the proteins that make skin look young through a small act of deception. Treatments such as laser or radiofrequency resurfacing and microdermabrasion facials trick the skin into thinking it needs to repair a wound, in which case it amps up collagen and elastin production to rebuild the “damaged” foundation, resulting in an even stronger foundation than before. Topical agents such as retinol creams and plant-based acids also encourage cell synthesis, and as always, staying hydrated is vital to helping your face resist wrinkles and keep from shriveling back into a sponge capsule.
