Professional photographers teach students digital-photography basics or how to properly light, frame and time outdoor images
Photographers swiftly capture what sluggish painters cannot, such as the sparkle of a fleeting smile, the identity of a media-shy superhero, or the split second a peregrine falcon breaks the sound barrier. Attain photographic know-how with this Groupon.
Choose from Three Options
- $35 for an Intro to Your Digital Camera class for one (a $75 value)
- $49 for a Composition in the Field workshop for one (a $99 value) $89 for a Composition in the Field workshop for two (a $198 value)
During the three-hour Intro to Your Digital Camera class, novices learn the basic mechanics of digital SLR and point-and-shoot cameras. After a review of the cameras’ menu items, aspiring shutterbugs partake in a quick still-life demo, as well as a live model shoot. Digital Photo Academy’s instructors encourage students to enlist in the class whether or not they already own a digital camera. The classes take place Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays at Denver Pro Photo. View the schedule.
The Composition in the Field workshops equip students with the skills to evoke surprising imagery from everyday surroundings. During each outdoor outing, an experienced photographer guides lenses toward flawless lighting, thoughtful framing, and stealthy snapshots of bald eagles not wearing their hairpieces. Students choose from locations such as snap fests of the urban environment of Lodo or the open-air venues and the zoo at City Park Pavilion to the sloping, textured stones of the Red Rocks Amphitheater. Participants in this workshop should plan to schlep their own digital camera and any other equipment, such as a tripod, to the site of their picturesque locale.
Workshops are held on Saturdays and Sundays at various times and locations and are taught by a host of instructors.
