Washington, DC currently has a dropout rate of 13 students per school day, and recent research shows that only 9% of District high-school freshmen will graduate from college. College Bound works with 8th–12th-grade public- and charter-school students to help them enter and succeed in college.
To help make higher education a reality for as many students as possible, College Bound provides mentoring, tutoring, and academic guidance at no cost. After graduating from high school, participating students can receive continued support throughout college via the organization's online virtual-mentoring program. But first, each student has to find a college or university to attend. An opportunity to compare and contrast various schools is vital when it comes to deciding where to apply. With help from their College Bound mentors, students can research their options and plan a tour of campuses ranging from small liberal-arts schools to sprawling state universities. Through its various programs, College Bound maintains an impressive college enrollment rate of 100%.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help a high-school student learn more about potential universities on a college tour. If G-Team members raise $400, then College Bound can sponsor one student on a four-day college tour, which includes bus transportation for four days, a three-night hotel stay, guided tours of seven or eight colleges, plus breakfast, lunch, and excursions to local points of interest. The College Bound board will match all donations up to $2,500.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
All donations will be matched up to a $2,500 total by the College Bound board.
