Q:

I have been wanting to get into photography, and figured it would be smart to educate myself with classes and photography skills before I go and buy a camera I don't know how to use and the proper lighting and techniques. Can you recommend a good DSLR Camera for beginners?

jessica k.  asked on  Oct 9, 2012

A:

Yes! We love the Canon Rebel series (like the T2 or T3!). You can get a great deal on a used body from Amazon!

Q:

What kind of camera is required for this class? When do the classes start, and what kind of time frame do we have to finish them in?

jessica k.  asked on  Oct 9, 2012

A:

You have access to the course through the end of the calendar year you take the course in ... you can have literally any kind of digital camera! if you plan to take 101 or 102, we highly recommend having a DSLR (camera with interchangeable lenses). Hope that helps!

Q:

My husband bought me a Canon EOS 60D with a couple of different lenses. I took a class YEARS ago to learn how to use a film camera that no longer works. I don't remember all of what I learned. I like to shoot landscape and outdoor stuff mostly and have been playing with the auto settings built into the camera, but have not ventured out into manual other than focus. Should I start with the 101 class or the creative composition?

Tammy E.  asked on  Oct 9, 2012

A:

Start with 101!

Q:

I am interested in the Start Your Own Photography Business class that is shown as Sold Out. Will the class be offered after the March 2013 date that is showing? Or is it just the classes for 2012 that are sold out? Since we have until Dec 2013 to use the groupon deal I was hoping it would be offered.

Stacia R.  asked on  Oct 8, 2012

A:

You absolutely can! We will open up new spots for that course at the end of the month - but you can also be added to the wait list for any of the next few months! Email us at info@flyingphotoschool.com.

How long are the aircraft flights?

Marshall S.  asked on  Oct 8, 2012

A:

I believe this question is meant for a different deal. =) We do have the word "flying" in our name, but we're all about photography here.

Q:

I wear the progressive lens which are tri focals and would love to use the manual focus, but it is very difficult for me. Is there a solution to this problem. I have a cannon T2i that I purchased this summer and am just now learning a few things about it. Linga

Q:

I'm confused, it appears that Allison B. and Deborah A. received conflicting answers. If the course is taken in a given month, can the material be viewed again after the month is over, assuming it's still within the yearly time frame?

mark l.  asked on  Oct 8, 2012

A:

Yes! I'm sorry if we gave any conflicting info! You have access to the course material through the end of the calendar year. You can view as many times as you want. Does that help clear it up?

It might be a good idea for him to reach out to us ... so we can assess his skill level and see what class would be a good fit for him.
