About Wildlife Learning Center
Wildlife Learning Center (WLC) is located in Sylmar, California, nestled in an old olive grove where more than 50 different species of displaced, rescued, and zoo-born wild animals call this shady, natural environment home. The WLC staff is a team of biologists with a passion for wildlife and environmental education. WLC’s mission is to provide sanctuary for animals in need, collaborate with other institutions for species conservation by participating in species survival breeding plans, and offer education programs that inspire the public to care for our wildlife, to care for our environment, and to teach and inspire a greater interest in the life sciences. Alongside a circular walking path, a menagerie of animals, including lynxes, foxes, monkeys, sloths, and college sports mascots, frolics within landscaped enclosures. Throughout the afternoon, friendly biologists give wildlife talks on the hour and offer interactive animal experiences with various critters. WLC also hosts children's camps and birthday parties for aspiring naturalists to ensure a future generation of nature-loving citizens.
