About Brooklyn McDermott Photography
Brooklyn McDermott can’t remember a time in her life when she wasn’t taking pictures. She has always loved it, but never more so than when she gave birth to twin boys and found herself taking more snapshots than ever. Friends, bowled over by Brooklyn's professional compositions and eye for editing, asked her to photograph their families. That’s when she realized she had the rare opportunity to actually make money doing something she loved— and her photography business was born.
Today, Brooklyn's professional tastes lean toward outdoor photography and the magic of the candid shot. Though she recognizes that posed photos can be beautiful, the genuine emotion of a unposed photo excites her. She also encourages her clients to bring objects of sentimental value to their photo shoot so she can capture the personality of the basketball player, the music enthusiast, or the doorknob connoisseur.
She relishes helping people capture their fondest memories, but what really sets Brooklyn apart is her belief that your time with a professional photographer should be a hassle-free experience. "I don't nickel-and-dime people," she says, citing her practices of not charging clients for the time she spends editing the images and supplying clients with digital copies of all the photos taken at the shoot.
