If your eyes are the windows to your soul, your hair is the tunnel to your mind. Keep your mind-matter from escaping with today's hair-taming Groupon. For $15, new customers get a haircut from a level-one stylist at Dean of Shadyside (a $30 value). This Groupon can be upgraded to any other women's hair service or level of stylist at the premier Pittsburgh salon by paying the difference. Parking in the lot behind the salon is as free as your untamed spirit or shaggy, haircut-needing hair.

Dean of Shadyside's internationally trained stylists come in a variety of levels. Your Groupon will treat you to Dean of Shadyside's freshest minds (the level ones). These prodigies have been trained in the arts of follicular fashion in the U.S., London, Paris, the fabled lost city of K'un L'un, or Milan, and will consult with you to discern your most secret hair dreams and desires before trimming your tresses into your perfect new look. If you prefer a higher belt color of stylist, you can pay the difference and see a Level Two ($40), Level Three ($50–$75), or Bowser from Level Eight Super Mario Bros. If you pay the difference, you can also upgrade to any of Dean of Shadyside's other services at any level, including styling ($20–$120+), hair color with foil and without ($30–$100), perm waves ($75–$100), hair extensions, wigs, and more.

Valid for new clients only.

Reviews

Dean of Shadyside has been featured in the Pittsburgh Business Times.

More than 35 Citysearchers and Google maps users give Dean of Shadyside four stars, and Insider Pagers give three:

  • I came in there with a curly mess of long hair that hadn't been attended to in 9 months, and I left with hair worthy of an Herbal Essence commercial. I couldn't have asked for better service, a better style, or a better stylist! – Fllnangltcg, Citysearch
  • I recomended [sic] the place to several of my friends and they all have become regulars now. The service is very professional and the experience is well worth the money spent. – sonali22, Citysearch
  • Dean of Shadyside is a little different than most upscale salons. It is reasonably large, but doesn't feel like it…Overall, a very good salon. They carry the usual brand-name salon products, plus some other brands that I have not seen anywhere else. – Sue M., Insider Pages

Its stylists focus on hospitality and guarantee all their services, which include everything from a basic blow dry to feather extensions and three levels of highlights. In a private office, staff experts also consult clients on hair loss and offer them wig-fashion services or attach extensions for more voluminous looks.
