About Del Sur Bar & Grill
Though Del Sur Bar & Grill only opened in October, 2015, Chicagoans are certainly familiar with its chef. Jorge Hernandez has spent his career in some of the city's most renowned kitchens—including Bistro 110, Park Grill, and The Gage—for upwards of 25 years altogether. Despite the global expertise those restaurants lent him, Chef Jorge honed in on a singular focus for Del Sur: Latin-inspired recipes. Starting with breakfast, the kitchen prepares egg casserole studded with peppers, chilaquiles, and sweet-corn tamales topped with queso fresco. Tortas anchor the lunch menu, whereas dinner is reserved for more elegant dishes, such as medium-rare scallops with creamy chipotle polenta.
