What You'll Get

Give a guy a fish, and he'll eat for a day; teach a guy to make perfect sushi rolls, and he'll be the culinary king of the cul-de-sac. With today's deal, $35 gets you a cooking class for two people to attend (a $70 total value) at Delish! Cooking School in Elmwood Village.. Find out why your soufflé always falls or learn the basics of braising and roasting with today's Groupon. Classes are held Tuesday through Saturday, at 6 p.m. unless otherwise noted, above the Delish! pastry shop.

Delish! cooking classes school amateur gastronomers on a variety of local and international cuisines. In the state-of-the-art kitchen, new Delish! chef Michael Bielli, whose resume includes a stint cooking with famous chefs like Emeril Lagasse, Mario Batali, and Rick Bayless while working at the Food Network, demonstrates his trade with the latest techniques and freshest ingredients. Potluckers searching for go-to dishes learn new recipes while developing their wine and beer palates. After each lesson, which typically lasts between 1.5 and two hours, participants chow down on a tasting of all the dishes prepared, walking away with formerly screaming stomachs sated and formerly pleading hands clutching hard copies of recipes. Check the schedule and ponder over upcoming courses such as irresistible baked gratins and casseroles, Thai cuisine, and modern vegetarian, while taking care not to salivate on any children or pets that may be passing by.

Most classes host between 10 and 20 students and are held by reservation only, so call ahead to ensure your brain gets filled with useful information and your mouth gets filled with delicious eats. Cooking classes are an excellent way to bond with a loved one, and they make a creative date option that's infinitely preferable to going on a hunt for the fabled autumn mansquid in the frigid waters of the Atlantic.

Open for ages 16 and older unless specifically noted. Please arrive 10 minutes early.
