What You'll Get
Excelling at water sports, like aging gracefully or enjoying dried fruit, requires acceptance of pruney fingers. Outfit yourself for aqua play with today’s Groupon: for $50, you get a two-hour standup paddleboarding lesson and all-day board rental from Demo Sport in San Rafael (a $100 value). Lessons are held Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Demo Sport; lessons on other days and times are based on appointment and availability.
Demo Sport’s teaching team of both competitors and recreational paddlers supply sea legs of all ages with the skills and supplies to skim sparkling waterways. During clinics atop the San Francisco Bay, oar-wielding instructors bestow paddleboarding basics such as standing up, keeping your balance, and strumming paddles like guitars to impress nearby mermaids. After a.m. lessons, pupils have the rest of the day to try out new skills solo. A 24-hour trial period with new fiberglass friends includes a board, paddle, and a leash to prevent ill-behaved boards from attacking the mailman.

About Demo Sport
Sharing a deep passion for the outdoors, the staff at Demo Sport engineers aquatic and alpine fun with an inventory of high-performance sporting equipment for seasons both hot and cold. In the summer months, customers can prepare for riding ocean waves or churning placid lakes into giant whirlpools with Suftech standup paddleboards, Hyperlite and Ronix wakeboards, and accessories such as gloves, boots, and life jackets. Once snow has blanketed nearby peaks, athletes carve the powdery slope atop skis from Rossignol, K2 or Völkl and snowboards from Burton and Never Summer, Demo Sport also carries trek bikes and Lucky scooters, both great methods for exploring urban environments without paying pigeons' outrageous tour prices.
