Our party of 9 ranged in age from 11 to 62 and everyone had a fantastic time! Of course perfect weather helped too - Denali was out in full glory.

The guides and the trip was amazing, Craig, Carson, and Tej went out of their way to make sure everyone was comfortable and having fun. Fabulous company!!! Outstanding job and well trained. I m deathly afraid of water but did this trip for my son, the guys were great about making me feel comfortable and safe. My son got some one on one training on how to row and judge the river, which he thought was "just to cool". Thank you all so very much!!

What You'll Get

Lightweight watercrafts tend to float better, move faster, and score higher on standardized tests than their denser cousins. Join the cream of the liquid-riding crop with today’s Groupon: for $119, you get an 8–9-hour full-day excursion (up to a $199 value), photo shoot with a digital camera (a $15 value), and roundtrip shuttle service (up to a $25 value) for one person from the Denali Southside River Guides in Talkeetna (up to a $239 total value). The shuttle service includes customer pickup and drop-off at selected locations in Talkeetna. Groups must have a minimum of four people; smaller groups will be paired with others. This Groupon is valid for any date during the summer 2011 season, and through its expiration on June 30, 2012.

Denali Southside River Guides spoils eyes with exclusive water-top excursions across Denali State Park’s protected waterways. Each aquatic voyage begins up on Byers Lake, where single or tandem sit-on-top kayaks turn landlubbers into water-walking explorers. During the tour of the state park's largest lake, paddlers may peep upon resident swans or catch glimpses of bears gathering fresh salmon for local sushi chefs. Tour times may vary, with most spanning approximately two-hours. After scarfing a warm lunch (included in this deal) at the historic Mary Carey's McKinley View Lodge, explorers hop onto a raft and enjoy a relaxing downriver float back toward Talkeetna. As the guide channels the raft through the Chulitna River, floaters can spend three–four hours absorbing views of the Alaska Range and shaking their heads at the graffiti plastered on canyon walls by local beaver gangs. After sending explorers home from the excursion, guides take their navigational prowess to cyberspace, gracing inboxes with an email full of digital photos taken throughout the trip.

Denali Southside River Guides features their Full Day Excursion package for half off on July 19, July 24, July 29 and on August 9, August 11, August 24, and August 25. These specials do not include a photo shoot or shuttle service. For the remainder of the year, this Groupon offers the best deal available for Full Day Excursion trips.

About Denali Southside River Guides

Byers Lake looks as smooth as glass to a group of kayakers, who gaze at an inverted reflection of Mount McKinley on the undisturbed surface. The moment doesn't last—maybe a loon call cuts the air, or maybe a wedge of trumpeter swans throws waves through the mountain's mirror image—but the kayakers carry the morning's still, quiet image with them throughout the day.

Craig and Shelis Jorgensen, owners of the Talkeetna-based Denali Southside River Guides, unveil the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness through low-impact adventures in and around the waters of Denali State Park. Claiming a team of experienced guides that possesses an extensive knowledge of the area, the Jorgensens coordinate excursions such as rafting down rivers ranging from calm glacial feeds to Class II and III whitewater rapids.
