One hour sessions focus on burning calories and reshaping the body through a series of movements that incorporate strengthening and stretching exercises. Each class uses a combination of light weight stretches to enhance the upper body, ballet and dance moves that target the legs and butt, and Pilates elements to improve the core strength.
It's easy to feel at peace at Desa Prana, a seaside fitness studio that looks out onto the sandy shores and lapping waters of Capistrano Beach. Amidst these relaxing environs, instructors lead students through limb-stretching postures during traditional yoga classes, restorative yoga, flowing vinyasa, and sweat-inducting power yoga. Studio director Jeanne Mccormack, who boasts 30 years of teaching experience, also peppers the class schedule with pilates, TRX, and barre classes, the latter of which makes use of light weights and ballet movements to tone muscle and tighten cores.
