Flowers are rarely observed after dark, except by fireflies and people with E.T. fingers. Successfully admire plants after hours with today's Groupon: for $7, you get one garden flashlight tour at Desert Botanical Garden (up to a $15 value). Tickets for children ages 3–12 are $5, and both members and children younger than 3 are admitted for free.
Desert Botanical Garden nurtures more than 50 acres of desert plants and welcomes more than 600,000 patrons to explore the botanical ranch each year. From June through August, guests can visit the garden after hours on Thursdays and Saturdays for a 7 p.m. flashlight tour to witness the activities of nocturnal wildlife and night-blooming plants. Today’s deal also grants general admission to the garden before the tour. Throughout the garden, guests will visit guided stations to meet and learn about desert tortoises, scorpions, and snakes before placing flashlights underneath plants to coax them into telling ghost stories.
Desert Botanical Garden
A kaleidoscope of multichromatic blossoms and emerald leaves bursts from the soil, blanketing 65 acres of desert landscape at Desert Botanical Garden. Diverse walkways flanked by more than 1,200 types of cacti, succulents, and wildflowers educate visitors on the importance of protecting the environment and not hugging every plant they see. In addition to the garden's more stationary organisms, some of which go home with local green thumbs during biannual plant sales, numerous avian and insect species make their homes amid the thriving greenery.
