In order to survive, plants must use their leaves to soak up the sun and their roots to tickle the soil until it forfeits its groundwater. See the struggle for yourself with today's Groupon: for $9, you get one admission to the Desert Botanical Garden (up to an $18 value).
At the Desert Botanical Garden, 65 acres of desert plants from around the world captivate visitors, who marvel at the sheer variety of blossoms and shapes and leave with a better understanding of the importance of environmental stewardship. Guests can stroll along walkways that curve through beds of more than 50,000 types of cacti, wildflowers, shrubs, trees, and succulents, taking note of the birds, insects, and garden gnomes that live amid the plants. Visitors can better navigate the grounds thanks to daily and seasonal activities. The garden houses a permanent Chihuly glass installation and features rotating exhibits, with recent installations exploring sustainable living and paintings done by ambitious cacti.
Our customers loved this deal last year, earning the Desert Botanical Garden a spot on Groupon's Best of 2011 list.
Desert Botanical Garden
A kaleidoscope of multichromatic blossoms and emerald leaves bursts from the soil, blanketing 65 acres of desert landscape at Desert Botanical Garden. Diverse walkways flanked by more than 1,200 types of cacti, succulents, and wildflowers educate visitors on the importance of protecting the environment and not hugging every plant they see. In addition to the garden's more stationary organisms, some of which go home with local green thumbs during biannual plant sales, numerous avian and insect species make their homes amid the thriving greenery.
