What You'll Get

The world is full of classic sequences such as washer then dryer, joke then laughter, and cheesecake then haircut. For $40, today’s Groupon adds another twosome to that list with a drop-in yoga session ($12 value) and a one-hour, therapeutic massage ($75 value) at the appropriately named Desert Song Yoga and Massage Center, a Phoenix yoga shoppe and massagery that's got 25 years of experience under its belt made out of old tires.
Desert Song offers more than 15 types of yoga classes, all taught in the hatha tradition with influences from Anusara and Iyengar yoga. Courses are available for people of all ages, levels, and fitness backgrounds, with more than 50 scheduled each week. Beginners can choose from Intro to Yoga, the slower-paced Gentle Yoga, or Yoga Basics, for an overview of the fundamental poses.
Desert Song also offers all-level and intermediate classes for those with a little more experience. For accomplished yogartists, Desert Song provides advanced classes and The Practice, a physically strenuous yoga session led by lawyers. Flow classes, which use breath to link different poses, are available on multiple levels. Current and soon-to-be parents can also choose from prenatal, parent and child, and kid’s yoga classes.
Following your yoga session, or on another visit, relax under the skilled hands of one of seven massage therapists. You’ll get an hour of therapeutic massage that specifically address problems spots for chronic pain, including the neck, shoulders, lower back, and conference room. This form of alternative medicine works as both aspirin and vaccine, alleviating pain and preventing future spasms, aches, and melty fingers. Aside from addressing chronic pain, massage kneads a slew of other benefits into your grateful body, including improved circulation and lymphatic flow (which in turn means a stronger immune system), reduced headache pains, better sleep, less anxiety and stress, and an average golf swing.
- Excellent teachers and lovely facility. Regardless of your experience level, there is something for everyone! Convenient location for the central area, not to mention FANTASTIC massages. I highly recommend this studio. – Brooke S., Yelp
- This is the best yoga studio I have been to, and I’ve been to couple of others in the valley. The teachers and staff are so friendly. I felt a great vibe from the moment I walked in. The people who go there are also very down to earth, friendly, good people. It’s a great community. – Anita H., Yelp
- I am lucky enough to live just down the street from this wonderful, peaceful studio. Everyone here is kind, friendly, nurturing, and knowledgeable. I take the ‘Gentle’ class on Saturdays and I look forward to it every week and always leave feeling amazing. Love this place! – THerrick, Kudzu
