Learning a new skill is useful, especially if it means a promotion to a front-of-the-horse costume. Go to the head of the class with this Groupon.
Choose from Three Options
- $45 for a three-hour Beginning Bead-Making class (a $95 value)
- $45 for a one-day Introduction to Glass-Fusing class (a $95 value)
- $69 for a one-day Glass-Blowing class (a $200 value)
During the Beginning Bead-Making class, students first learn safety tips and basics before shaping molten glass into fetching beads. The glass-fusing class teaches students how to cut glass into small pieces before fusing them into distinct designs, and the glass-blowing class arms students with the basic skills to turn hot glass into intricate artwork. All classes are kept small to ensure maximum teacher-student interaction.
Design with Fire
Owners Patrick Mullen and Linnea Wong opened Design with Fire in 2008 to ignite a fiery passion for glass art throughout the community. Mullen, Wong, and their staff of torch-wielding artists call upon their extensive backgrounds in glass manipulation to equip students with the glass-blowing, glass-fusing, and lampworking skills needed to complete an array of projects. During hands-on classes, students learn how to create their own magnum opuses in the form of colorful beads, shimmering jewelry, unique wall hangings, and light-catching vases that empower plants to grow into Cabbage Patch Kids.

“I took a glass blowing class earlier in 2013 and had a fantastic time! Great owner/teachers and excellent hands on fun! My paperweight turned out fantastic and its nice to have a finished project to remind me of the great time I had in the class. I decided to take a glass fusing class to make pendants for jewelry and once again throughly enjoyed the class. Glass is an expensive art form and the Design with Fire classes with the Groupon are resonably priced, give you an opportunity to try out a new art form, provide a range of skills and the owners are top notch people and artists themselves!”
“Great instruction and fun class! ”
