Choose from Three Options

  • $65 for a handmade glass pendant light workshop for one (a $165 value)
  • $119 for a handmade glass pendant light workshop for two (a $330 value)
  • $229 for a handmade glass pendant light workshop for four (a $660 value)

During the workshop, students learn to cut a glass pendant light from their choice of glass, using a glass cutter, and a glass grinder with a diamond bit. After the glass is fired, they cut again to fit a particular fixture. Depending on the glass chosen, the pendant light can also be sandblasted to create a frosted look.

Designs by Sylvanye Glass Studio

Tending fires of 1,300 degrees, the artisans of Designs by Sylvanye Glass Studio create jewelry, glass art, and dishware from molten materials. Their students, who range from aged 8 to adult, learn to use cutting systems, grinding equipment, and designing tools as they build their own pieces in a safe and supportive environment.

For inspiration or purchase, shelves and shelves of luminescent custom designs inhabit the studio's gallery and workspaces. The school also keeps independent artisans supplied with innovative products, including the pint-size MicroKiln, designed for use in a standard microwave oven.
