What You'll Get
Before governments implemented the modern mail system, messages depended on archaic forms of delivery such as pneumatic tubes or tattooed messages on Olympic torchbearers. Receive mail more efficiently with today's Groupon: for $25, you get a 10-parcel pickup card for shipments from the United States from Detroit Mailbox (a $69.95 value).
Detroit Mailbox supplies Windsor residents with a U.S. address so they can shop online with U.S. businesses and avoid border-related shipping headaches. With the 10-parcel pickup card (a $6.95/parcel value), Detroit Mailbox will sign for and hold shipments lighter than 70 pounds from any courier, including UPS, FedEx, USPS, freight carriers, and Silk Road caravans. Parcel recipients simply add their name to Detroit Mailbox's address, then submit an incoming package notice online. Customers receive email or telephonic notification once their packages have safely arrived at Detroit Mailbox's insured, balloon-animal-guarded storage facility, where they rest comfortably until pickup.
Packages can cool their heels in storage for as long as necessary, though a charge of $6.95 applies after 30 days, recurring every 30 days thereafter. Buyers should note that Detroit Mailbox cannot accept certain packages, including those containing dangerous goods, flammable materials, refrigerated wares, or anything requiring special handling, such as live circus acts. Consult the company's FAQ page for more information.

About Detroit Mailbox
Detroit Mailbox grants Canadian shoppers their own working American mailing address, so they can avoid hefty international shipping charges associated with US-based websites. Additionally, the service helps them purchase goods from US merchants that do not ship to Canada. The package-pickup service lets Canadians buy goods from US auction sites, classifieds, or peer-to-peer peddlers without having to put down payments on a home in Michigan or to teach the mailbox to recite a foreign oath of citizenship. Once packages arrive at the Detroit office’s doorstop, the staff notifies clients via email that they can pick up their cargo and escort it home. The facility also leases mailboxes so people can safely receive certified mail, packages, and payments from the Tooth Fairy.
