What You'll Get
Greek sporting competitions were held in conjunction with academic decathlons, forcing athletes to recite Homeric verse while wrestling opponents or choking them in a classic choke-off. Witness an equally extreme sport spectacle with today's Groupon, which gets you admission to the Dew Tour's Toyota Challenge at Energy Solutions Arena. Choose from the following ticket options:
$7 for a single-day ground-pass ticket for Friday, September 17, Saturday, September 18, or Sunday, September 19 (a $15 value). The ground pass gets you access to the day's competitions, Thursday's lineup, and the festival village, where interactive booths shelter crowds in between displays of gravity manipulation. No seats are guaranteed with the purchase of a ground pass.
$50 for a single-day Action-Zone-pass ticket for Friday, September 17, Saturday, September 18, or Sunday, September 19 (a $100 value). An Action Zone pass guarantees you the best available seat for the daily event finals. It also includes a behind-the-scenes tour. Action Zoners also get a Dew Tour hat and bandana, access to the festival village, access to Thursday's lineup, a chance to meet athletes during an autograph session, an Alli Shop merchandise-discount coupon, a cold Pepsi product, and more.
The Toyota Challenge, aided in part by the Utah Sports Commission, unites extreme athletes from the adrenaline-flooded worlds of BMX, skateboarding, and freestyle motocross for a competitive spectacle of varying heights and Matrix-like hang times. Friday's schedule includes skate vert prelims, BMX vert finals, and an evening concert featuring Neon Trees. Saturday's show has skate-park finals, BMX dirt finals, and FMX; Sunday showcases skate vert finals. Two-time gold medalist Shaun White will get gnarly on the vert ramp, and attendees may see teen BMX-phenom Brett "Maddog" Banasiewicz live up to his name by revving his pedals and scaring nearby dogs into a futile rage––perhaps followed by skateboarding superstar Ryan Sheckler soothing said dogs out of sicking with the tranquil twirls of a few front-foot impossibles.
For the Action Zone Behind the Scenes Tour, arrive up to 2 hours before gates open.
- I watched lots of guys trying to qualify for the BMX Dirt and it was amazing to see front flips, tail whips, back flips, and handlebar turns as they sailed over these gigantic dirt jumps and landed just fine. – Galt Tech
- The Dew Tour for me was AWESOME. This is the best event for rubbing elbows with the pros. The are willing to give out signatures and answer questions. So fan friendly. – lrigyadhtrib, Ticketmaster
