The instructors at DFW Surf introduce students to surface-skimming sports on the waters of scenic Lake Grapevine. During the two-hour private stand-up paddle lesson, pairs of pupils will perch atop long, wide paddleboards to learn proper paddle-wielding techniques, posture, foot positioning, and steering. Once students have mastered the basics of the board, they'll emerge with better balance and coordination and the ability to enjoy their bathroom when the toilet overflows.
Open to all ability levels, the private paddleboard yoga session opens with a half-hour stand-up paddleboard lesson to conquer the fundamentals. A guide leads amphibious duos to a tranquil secluded cove, where students will beach their watercraft and collectively stretch and unite breath and movement without jogging in scuba gear. After class, students will use their fortified mental and physical balance to glide back to the starting point.
Alternatively, up to six aspiring surfers and spectators may climb aboard the boat for the Friday night group wake-surf lesson. Over the course of 2.5 hours, a professional boater will zip around the lake to create continuous waves, and a trained surfer will guide students through riding the waves both while holding a tow rope, and then without, and then while singing the national anthem. After the tutorial, the whole crew will celebrate their one-ness with the water by taking in a half-hour fireworks display from the comforts of their trusty dinghy.
Whether learning how to surf the endless wave during a wake-surfing lesson or serenely building up endorphins, balance, and strength through standup-paddleboard classes, DFW Surf has a team of professional instructors ready to help students of all levels master the world of watersports.
