See stunning works from Diablo Ballet's 22-year history at this anniversary performance, which features acclaimed dancer-choreographer Robert Dekkers' return to the Diablo stage. Dekkers, who's known for his experimental pieces, is set to screen a film he co-directed, as well as perform his own work, Pitch Pause Please. The company will perform their first world premiere from 2011, renowned dancemaker Val Caniparoli's Tears from Above, a ballet set to the music of "A Phoenix Story," a composition for two cellos by Uzbekistan-born, Australian composer Elena Kats-Chernin, which will be played live. Live music also accompanies Sonya Delwaide's ballet, Sérénade pour Cordes et Corps, set to Ernö Dohnányi's "Serenade in C major for String Trio." Also on tap for the Diablo Ballet's 22nd anniversary show at Walnut Creek's Lesher Center for the Arts is the pas de deux and finale from La Fille Mal Gardée.
Total run time will be one hour and 10 minutes, with no intermission.
