What You'll Get
Four-leaf clovers bring good fortune to those who find them, but 40-leaf clovers bring ironic ruin to ants that use their newfound material wealth to build entourages of false friends. Find a stroke of Irish luck with today’s Groupon: for $15, you get $30 worth of Irish pub fare and drinks at Dick O’ Dow’s in Birmingham.
The kitchen crew at Dick O’ Dow’s floods taste buds with flavors from the Emerald Isle with a menu of stews, meat pies, and other Irish classics in addition to American pub fare. To start, beef, cheese, and jalapenos rest on a bed of homemade tortilla chips to make traditional nachos ($9.99), whose alter ego materializes in irish nachos with beef, cheese, tomato, and onion blanketing homemade potato chips next to a side of Ranch dressing ($8.99). Succulent corned beef and roasted red potatoes ($14.99) lead a parade of St. Patrick’s favorite feasts, with potato-encrusted shepherd’s pie ($11.99) following close behind. A soft bread bowl envelops a ladle-full of Irish stew, which sinks succulent lamb and potatoes into a thick broth ($11.99). House-prepared corned beef and swiss cheese bask between the bread slices of the Celtic Reuben ($8.99), which highlights a roster of 18 sandwiches that also includes a turkey club ($9.99) and tuna melt ($9.99).
Tongues lap up a frothy Guinness between bites, and teeth bury themselves in a homemade Guinness brownie ($4.95) to avoid the temptation to gnaw on another diner's wristwatch. Exposed-brick walls surround the dining room at Dick O’ Dow’s, where guests sit in chairs to support their backs or on benches to support the local bench makers' union.

About Dick O' Dow's
Picture a pub so packed with soccer fans that the ones lucky enough to have seats at the big, wooden bar can barely cheer without thwacking the people on all sides of them, and you’ll have some idea of what Dick O’ Dow's was like during the last World Cup. While such sporting events of such importance come only once every four years, the pub manages to maintain the fun-loving—and authentically Irish—atmosphere day in and out, in particular by enlisting live musical acts to perform as guests gulp pints of Guinness and solemnly discuss the latest Fun Street Journal. Even the party room suggests Old-World Ireland, with its stone fireplace, climbing ivy, and color palette of rich reds and browns. Here and in the main bar area, visitors feed on a full menu of traditional Irish fare, such as shepherd’s pie, irish stew, chicken pot pie, sliders, and pizza.
