Gary never liked wine. Until, during a trip to Ireland, he tasted honey mead. He fell head over heels for the stuff, and started making his own upon returning to the States. A gold medal in a local wine show encouraged his efforts, so much so that he eventually founded Diletto Winery with his wife Jacqueline. Their lack of classical experience has led them to throw out the rulebook, making non-traditional spirits such as Apple Cider wine, Elderberry wine, and their regularly sold-out Banana wine. Perhaps not surprisingly, their pairings menu is a bit different as well, featuring foods such as brisket sliders and baked brie topped with bacon and butterscotch. Even the entertainment isn't what you'd expect—in addition to tastings and paint-and-sip classes, Diletto also hosts murder-mystery dinners and escape-room games.
