America has always been the most extreme country, from the Boston Tea Punchings to having the first man swear on the moon. We hold this shredding guitar solo to be self-evident with today's Groupon to the Global RallyCross Championship, hosted by DirtFish Rally School at Old Mill Adventure Park, in Snoqualmie. Choose between two options:
- For $10, you get a one-day open-seating ticket to the Global RallyCross Championship on Saturday, April 16 (a $20 value). Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
- For $12, you get a two-day open-seating ticket to the SuperRally on Friday, April 15 (a $5 value) and the Global RallyCross Championship on Saturday, April 16 (a $20 value; for a total value of $25). Doors open at 12:00 p.m. on Friday and at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Global RallyCross pits four to six rallycross cars against each other for high-octane laps around a rural, industrial track, upon which each two-wheel- or all-wheel-drive road steed will vie for the championship and a possible invitation to the X Games. Watch as renowned speed demons, such as Hyundai-backed Rhys Millen and three-time X Games Rally gold medalist Tanner Foust, vehicularly tackle the course, speeding through off-camber turns, hills, and holograms of preschool bullies' faces. Death-defying course highlights include a breakneck excursion through a 500-foot-long industrial warehouse and clearing a joker jump over a 70-foot cross-over gap.
Those opting to attend the SuperRally will witness a separate race that blisters spectators' optic nerves with four-lap heats between two cars at a time. Fans seeking recognition from racers can head to the Expo area at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday for an autograph session, allowing them to marvel at their favorite driver's ability to write in calligraphy or Klingon. Kids 12 and under enter for free with a paid adult.
DirtFish Rally School
Among the Old Mill Adventure Park’s 315 verdant acres sliced through by miles of gravel and tarmac roads, DirtFish Rally School’s seasoned instructors impart their driving savvy upon pupils of all experience levels via dirt-lined rally courses of varying lengths. A pre-instructional driver's meeting in a classroom inside the 10,000-square-foot main building enables vehicular gurus to expound upon essential driving skills such as weight transfer, skid control, and how to stop Keanu Reeves from trying to stop the speeding car. Immune to inclement weather, DirtFish staff foils nature’s attempts at forcing drivers to stay indoors with all-season lessons that wend along demanding routes in rain, sleet, and snow. DirtFish’s meticulously maintained fleet of all-wheel-drive Subaru rally cars effortlessly hurtle along the high-speed slalom course and slide across the Skid Pad thanks to competition-ready features including Tein suspension, rally tires, and OMP safety equipment. Upon the course’s completion, DirtFish staffers welcome guests back into the main building where men’s and women’s showers and locker rooms facilitate spruce-up sessions and a museum peppers brains with information nuggets pertaining to the art of rally.
