- $225 for private Rice Village Chocolate Safari tour for twelve ($480 value)
Guides lead tourists and their sweet teeth on a journey through Rice Village’s architecture, with stops inside bakeries and chocolatiers. The tour kicks off with a pair of cookies and bit of education in the art of baking at Ruggles. Thusly fortified, the tour heads out to the British Isles to hunt for hidden Cadbury eggs. Then, the group moves just around the corner to Plate and Bottle, where a chocolatier cover’s the history of cacao from the time of Montezuma’s reign to present day. Of course, learning goes best with samples, and the educational stop includes a piece of white chocolate, milk chocolate, and dark chocolate, each paired with a complementary beverage, for every visitor. After getting a taste for Texan chocolate, the group heads to Chocolat du Monde to sample squares of French and Belgian varieties. The tour finally concludes at Sweet Paris Creperie, where tour attendees enjoy 20% off food and drink, including decadent Nutella s’mores.
