The music of video game composer Christopher Tin crosses boundaries between listeners, genres and mediums. Inspired by classical music but very audience-friendly, his work is at times exultant and joyful, and others sorrowful and mysterious. You will experience the full range of emotion during this performance of Tin's music at New York's David Geffen Hall. Artistic director and principal conductor Jonathan Griffith leads the Distinguished Concerts Orchestra and Singers International in a performance of Calling All Dawns, a stirring song cycle featuring "Baba Yetu," the theme song for Civilization IV. That song became, and remains, the only piece of music written for a video game to win a Grammy Award.
