What services does your business offer and what makes your business stand out from the competition?
We are a family-focused, traditional martial arts school, and we concentrate on character development using the nationally recognized Powerful Words program. Our system is a mix of Karate, Kenpo, and Juijitsu, which we use to make the students feel safe and confident in their everyday lives.
What's one tip for first-time students that will make them feel like veterans?
Everyone starts out as a beginner, but in our Sudbury school, your child will be in the first group of students. We've been in Newton for 12 years, but Sudbury is brand new. Your child should be comfortable knowing that everyone is starting from the beginning right now.
What was the inspiration to start or run this business?
I began my martial arts training when I was 10, and loved the sense of family and friendship it had. It boosted my confidence and just made me a better person. As soon as I began teaching at 15, I knew if was my calling to pass on those feelings of confidence, family, and friendship to a future generation.
What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing the changes that traditional martial arts training has on people. They become more aware of things we focus on like goal setting, loyalty, etiquette, and effort. I'm proud when I see our students grow up and accomplish amazing things with those lessons that they learned.
