What You'll Get
Crafting your way into someone's cupboard is the craftiest way into his or her heart. For $10, you get $20 worth of pottery and mosaic projects at DoItYourself Crafts. Walk into this creative studio space and muster up a masterpiece anytime Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
DoItYourself welcomes artists of all ages and skill levels to explore their inner pottery patterns in a relaxed studio setting. There's no studio-entrance fee, no hourly rate, no charge for tools or kiln firings, and no cap on creativity for you or your youngsters. Just pick a starter piece for pottery-painting projects ($8 and up) or mosaic projects ($11 and up) from an imaginative inventory that includes vases, dinnerware, mirrors, picture frames, and more. The rest is on the house. On select Thursday evenings, round up a female flock for savory snacks, sweet prizes, juicy gossip, and juice-receptacle painting on Diva Night.
Like a modern-day Michelangelo, use your provided stencils, stamps, and brushes to turn your shamefully nude pottery into a fully dressed masterpiece. Leave your painted work with the resident kiln whisperers, who will glaze and fire your piece for pick-up in a week's time. For mosaic projects, adorn your piece with a variety of tesserae such as Venetian glass or stained glass, and take your work home that day.

About Do-It-Yourself Crafts
Inside their blue-walled studio, staffers at Do-It-Yourself Crafts help visitors wield glass, tie-dye, silver clay, and pottery paints to create colorful, one-of-a-kind artwork. Glass-fusion classes teach patrons the skills they need to meld glass shards into funky tiles, and parties bring friends together to bond while they work on various art projects; patrons 21 or older can tote along libations to fuel the festivities. During pottery-painting sessions, patrons select a piece of raw ceramic bisque to adorn with provided pigments, choosing from forms such as plates, mugs, and plaques.
