Q:

I'm interested in 4 areas (upper/lower abdomen, left/right lovehandles). What is the price for the 4th area? Also, I'm a little apprehensive about whether the local anesthesia will be adequate (at the dentist, I always need a little more anesthesia than initially planned, and I seem to recover quickly from its effects).

T B.  asked on  Jan 23, 2013

A:

Since your areas exceed the offer, you need to come in for a consult with Dr. Heron; I suggest before this offer expires. Reference anesthesia, patients are also given oral medication. The combination of the two (Lidocaine and oral medication) is our routine approach for medication. The amount of anesthesia is based on the size of the individual. Your dentists anesthesia is not designed to last for several hours whereas for surgery, it is. Further questions should be asked during a consult. Please consider scheduling one soon. We do charge $25 consult fee to meet with the doctor.

Q:

You mention "less bruising & minimal downtime". What kind of bruising and downtime can be expected? Specifically in lower abdomen and/or inner thighs.

Christine F.  asked on  Jan 22, 2013

A:

The key is "minimal" bruising and downtown compared to traditional liposuction, We use the PAL ~ power assisted liposuction handle for aspiration. Heron Smart-Lipo Center introduced our newest surgical instrument, the PAL Liposculptor requires less force then manual liposuction instruments and makes the procedure easier for patients, yielding less bruising, trauma and swelling. Trust PAL for better results. Normal physical activities are resumed between 7 to 10 days.

Karen P.  asked on  Jan 22, 2013

Q:

If the whole stomach is done is that 2 areas, and does that include the sides? Also, How long is recoop time.

Darlene E.  asked on  Jan 22, 2013

A:

Sides are love handles and are an additional area. We perform procedures Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Most patients return to work on Monday; most within 48 hours. Each person determines how much time they need; you resume your normal activities immediately after surgery: food shopping on Saturday, church on Sunday and work on Monday. Consider scheduling a consult to learn more.

Q:

I noticed the treatment areas doesn't include an area that which I've always been interested, the ankles. I've had canckles all my life and was wondering have the ankles ever been considered for a treatment area and if no, why not?

Sharon S.  asked on  Jan 22, 2013

A:

The areas we treat are from the chest to the knees only. Unfortunately, that is our only answer.

Q:

I just turned 60. Is there an age limit to how effective this treatment could be? I am interested in lower abdomen and upper back.

Carolyn C.  asked on  Jan 22, 2013

A:

There is an age limit, but it isn't 60. We can most certainly help you. We review your medical history to ensure you qualify for surgery. We also require an EKG which is typical to most surgical procedures.

Q:

Is there any type of anesthesia used?

JOYCE F.  asked on  Jan 22, 2013

A:

Yes, local anesthesia is used.

Marty S.  from  Self  replied on  Jan 22, 2013

A:

This procedure is performed with local anesthesia. Similar to the numbing medication used by your dentist, Lidocaine is used in selected area for surgery. This procedure should not be confused with general anesthesia where the patient is put to sleep. With local anesthesia, you are awake which makes this procedure using local anesthesia much safe than general anesthesia.

Love handles are on the side of the torseau; lower back is below the "bra" area on the back of the torseau.
