Much like the beloved poet Walt Whitman, Don Coqui contains multitudes. On one side, the popular Astoria spot is a fine-dining restaurant, where chefs craft elegant plates of authentic Puerto Rican cuisine. By night, it transforms into a bumping lounge, complete with live DJ music, LED lighting, and a lengthy list of bottles and signature cocktails. Much like the poet, Don Coqui uses this multiplicity to its advantage, seamlessly fuses those two worlds together under one roof. On the restaurant side, diners dig into the kitchen's signature dishes, including slow-roasted pork shoulder (pernil), grilled churrasco, and paella loaded with lobster, shrimp, clams, mussels, and calamari. Adjacent to the dining room, meanwhile, the sleekly designed lounge entertains guests with thumping tunes and plenty of dancing throughout the week.
