Q:

We don't have boots for horse riding. Can my daughter use her snow boots or her school shoes that have a heel? Is a bike helmet sufficient? During the lesson does the parent stay with the child or leave and pick up? We are thinking of surprising her for her 10th birthday with this gift.

Kimberly V.  asked on  Apr 22, 2013

A:

I suggest checking with Double H Equestrian Center at (248) 231-4838, as they may need more information about the boots/shoes you had in mind. Wearing proper shoes/boots with a low heel is a requirement for the rider's own safety. You're welcome to use a bike helmet, and you can certainly stay and watch your child's lesson.

Q:

After the first lesson, what type of helmet is required? Can my daughter wear her bike helmet?

Katie M.  asked on  Apr 20, 2013

A:

Sorry for the delay! They would allow you to wear a bike helmet.

Q:

Is this Western or English?

Lynn H.  asked on  Apr 22, 2013

A:

Thanks for the question! Typically they start beginner riders Western, but they do teach English lessons as well. It's geared toward each individual.

Q:

You say one on one. Does that mean there are no other riders taking their lessons?

JILL C.  asked on  Apr 23, 2013

A:

Correct. It's a private lesson, so students will be taking their lesson alone.

Q:

If I buy the One time lesson which is 90 minutes long and the 4 year old who really wants to ride can only handle 30 minutes, can the remaining 60 minutes be used for the 8 year old who has a mild interest in it?

Mary P.  asked on  Apr 22, 2013

A:

Very sorry, but sessions can't be split.

Q:

If two adults want to have the three lessons together, can there be any break on the price? Also, do we have to buy our own helmets after the first lesson? Do we have to have cowboy boots? If we're more interested in getting to know a horse better, rather than "how to ride", is that ok? (We like to ride - but are strictly beginners.)

Barbara K.  asked on  Apr 19, 2013

A:

There would not be an additional discount beyond the Groupon for taking lessons together. Helmets are provided for the first lesson, you'd need your own helmet after that. Beginners are welcome!
