Grape juice magically transforms into wine in the same way milk becomes cheese and a 1972 Dodge Dart becomes an even older 1972 Dodge Dart. Tipple the tasty transformation with today's Groupon: for $15, you get $30 worth of Australian fare and wine at Down Under Wines & Bistro in Gilbert. Down Under Wines & Bistro's dinner menu lists scrumptious Australian bistro fare with Asian influence, and its vino list is chock full of alluring wines from down under. Marinated shrimp on the barbie ($10) can be augmented with a glass of the semi-dry, fruity Torbreck Woodcutters semillon from the Barossa Valley in south Australia ($9), while a smoked, pulled-pork panini comes already augmented with barbecue sauce, provolone cheese, and pineapple ($9). Down Under Wines & Bistro features additional grape-based libations, such as ports, light-bodied reds, and semi-sweet whites, which make for delicious dessert beverages and respectfully quiet companions when one is reading about the history of Viking conquests in Australia.

- Crocodile actually does taste like chicken. Ostrich and kangaroo, on the other hand, taste more like beef. These are just some of the things I discovered at Down Under Wines. – Jess Harter, East Valley Tribune
- I like the many unique food items they provide and they carry many of my Arizona wines and host great events for me. – Jim W., Yelp
