I had never heard of your shop before Groupon. The service I received when I cashed in my Groupon was outstanding. I expected some resistance because I was getting a 50 percent discount, but you guys were great. You have a customer for life. Thank you. Dennis

What You'll Get

Like the Tin Man, bikes need to be properly lubed, or they’ll break down on long journeys and be carried away by flying monkeys. Protect your ride with today’s Groupon to Downtown Ferndale Bike Shop. Choose between the following options:

  • For $39, you get $80 worth of accessories or bicycle parts in store or one advanced tune-up (an $80 value).
  • For $89, you get $200 toward any new bike in stock.

Owner Jon Hughes presides over Downtown Ferndale Bike Shop’s experienced staff members as they equip customers with the pedal-powered steeds that line every inch of the 1,400-square-foot shop. Pedal jockeys can race over roads with fresh tires ($15+) or ward off sidewalk splash with a pair of fenders ($15–$75), and helmets ($30–$120) protect delicate craniums from accidents and overzealous hairstylists. In the repair shop, mechanics scrutinize rides for problems before tweaking and tuning gears, frames, and wheels for smoother, safer riding. For an additional $40, customers can upgrade to a full tune-up, during which mechanics entirely disassemble and reassemble steely steeds.

In the spacious showroom, two-wheel gurus fit customers with ideal bikes to conquer the curbs, city streets, off-road trails, or rival jousters on commutes. BMX, road, commuter, and vintage rides from GT ($350–$800), Jamis ($300–$10,000), Redline ($450–$800), and other brands beg patrons to tear around turns on their own power. Bikes, wheels, and accessories hang from the walls and ceilings of the shop, where floor-to-ceiling windows bathe hardwood floors in the natural glow of a lightning-bug prom.

Though Downtown Ferndale Bike Shop sometimes features a discounted price online, today’s Groupon still offers the best deal available.
