Q:

Is there a charge for the consultation separate from the group on price or is that complimentary? Can you do both legs at the same time?

Adena R.  asked on  Jan 27, 2013

A:

Good questions! 1. No charge for consultation. 2. Both legs can be done at the same time. Thank you Adena. -includes an exam of arterial and venous blood flow for deeper vein problems, which may cause surface veins to engorge. -this will pre-qualify insurance for referrals & further testing if needed. That's a good thing! - an unusual bonus included in your first visit to keep everyone safely well cared for. -In my practice I have seen most people likely have veins that are appropriate to treat at their visit. (Reticular surface veins less than the size of a pencil or superficial spider veins which have a feeder seen under transillumination by a special light in the dark room) -Treated veins will be wrapped with a supplied ACE bandage, wear it for 2 days. -Firm support stockings worn for 2 weeks following treatment keeps pressure on treated area, for better healing and comfort (available at drug stores)

Q:

this expires 90 days after purchase? if I buy the 3 treatments, do I only have the 90 days to use all 3?

Sierra G.  asked on  Jan 27, 2013

A:

Thank you Sierra for asking. The groupon needs to be fully redeemed within the 90 days and most patients want treatments completed before summer months.

Q:

If I purchase the three treatments, how many weeks do you recommend waiting between treatments? How can I determine if I need one vs. three treatments? How do the results differ from laser vein treatments?

Natalie W.  asked on  Jan 27, 2013

A:

Thank you Natalie for your question. Email me, DrKelly@iLoveDrKelly.com anytime. In order to make sure I am answering correctly I would need to see you, and Sclerotherapy is much different from laser treatments. Sclerotherapy involves safely destroying the inner lining of the vein on the first treatment - without damage to surrounding tissue. Tiny injections into the vein are barely felt. The sclerosing agent also numbs the vein so it is quite painless. Veins usually need be treated only once. You can treat different veins at any time. Again, to give you the best information specific to you, we can answer more when I see you. You can also purchase more treatments at the discount price if you choose to only purchase 1 treatment. I hope that helps.

Q:

Can more than one vein be treated during the 15-45 minute visit? If so, how many?

Abbie W.  asked on  Jan 27, 2013

A:

Abbey, Yes. Thank you, that is a really good point. More than one vein can be treated. However, only 6cc of fluid can be safely injected at each visit, and treatment protocols are chosen specific to each patient. I can be very clear and specific when I see you. I hope that helps.

Q:

Is this treatment good for small spider veins on legs or just varicose legs?

CORRINE G.  asked on  Jan 28, 2013

A:

As stated below, yes, most small spider veins have a larger feeder which may be seen under transillumination with a special light to visualize under the skin. If these feeders, or spider veins can be cannulated ( threaded with the needle and solution ) they will be destroyed. Laser therapy remains best for tiny purple and red bursts on the surface. I love AZ Laser for veins, Rebecca and Carmen along with the laser technicians there are excellent with laser vein treatments. I hope this helps. Corrine, please email me directly with any other questions specific to you. DrKelly@iLoveDrKelly.com ( sorry for the delay in writing)

Q:

Does one treatment cover both leggs?

Elnora E.  asked on  Jan 28, 2013

A:

Hello Elnora, sorry for delay, it is discussed below, and the answer is specific to what type of veins and where they are. So its important to see you. We treat as much as we can with the limited amount (6cc of fluid) per treatment. Until I see you, I can not tell you, however, we do as much as we can. Thank you so much for asking.

If all three sessions need to be completed in 3 months, it needs to be 1 month between sessions and treatment must start immediately after purchase?

Sierra G.  asked on  Jan 28, 2013

A:

Sierra please email me directly "drKelly@iLoveDrKelly.com. Nobody said "needs to be 1 month between sessions" - i don't know why you are saying that. Perhaps you are thinking of laser vein treatments. Please read all the comments below. Again, email me directly to avoid false comments here.
