It's rare that a film title evolves into its own "effect" -- but that's exactly what happened to legendary director Akira Kurosawa's groundbreaking film Rashomon, which birthed the Rashomon effect, whereby different people relay contradictory interpretations of the same event. Dragonfly Theater's fully staged production -- complete with sword fights -- tells the tale of a robbery, rape and murder in feudal Japan from four different perspectives. Kurosawa's film won an Academy Honorary Award and was adapted into a Tony-nominated Broadway show. Now, this Dragonfly Theater production at the Wollaston Congregational Church in Quincy, seeks to uncover where the truth lies.
