About Driftwood Acupuncture and Wellness
Chinese medicine aims to treat the mind, body, and spirit, a philosophy that acupuncturist and massage therapist Anita Lang-Bakar brings to each of her patients. Anita started her long trajectory being raised in France, Morocco, and Germany, learned to speak five languages, and eventually worked on Wall Street for two decades. But after that, she traveled to Sichuan province in China to study at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. With so many varied experiences, plus her formal studies at Smith College and many holistic health institutes, she eventually sharpened her skills in acupuncture, Tuina Massage, and Herbal Medicine.
Today, all these things have come together to help Anita bring a unique perspective to her work. She combines her expertises to provide more effective treatments: acupuncture sessions relax bodies for massages, and performing them back-to-back allows her to focus on specific trouble areas. When she's not helping patients at her private practice, she often volunteers her acupuncture skills with East Palo Alto's underserved communities.
