The Scrooge in this sudsy take on Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol is named Bud Miller, a not-so-subtle jab at the two biggest brands of American beer. The way those companies make watery brew is a cardinal sin for the craft beer purists at Drinking & Writing Theater, so they've taken the classic holiday tale and turned it on its foamy head. Set as a 1940s-style live radio play, A Beer Carol follows Miller as he's visited by the ghosts of beer's four ingredients: hops, barley, water and yeast. Along the way he (and you) just might learn the true spirit of craft brewing.
