About Coors Fitness Center
The workout hangout of choice at DU and open to the general public, Coors Fitness Center welcomes students and locals alike to its multipurpose exercise wonderland. Its 14,500-square-foot main building sprawls across two tiers, with a lower-level area packed with free weights and an upper-level area housing more than 80 cardio machines from True and Cybex. The El Pomar Natatorium welcomes aquatic adventure with an Olympic-size swimming pool filled with Olympic-size water molecules, and the Stapleton Tennis Pavilion fosters daytime and nighttime volleys atop six lighted outdoor tennis courts. The center is also home to racquetball and squash courts and two NHL-size ice rinks, allowing skaters to practice slap shots or triple toe loops in comfort and safety.
Certified fitness instructors and personal trainers roam the gym’s campus, orchestrating more than 40 weekly group classes and infusing one-on-one workout sessions with instructional and motivational tactics. Post-workout, exercisers can retreat to the locker room, dab their sweaty brows with complimentary towels, and exercise brains by coming up with a list of favorite lock combinations.
