What You'll Get
Watching a movie gives audiences a chance to capture that moment’s resonant je ne sais quoi, which is French for “popcorn smell.” Rejoice in artful concessions with today's Groupon: for $19, you get four movie tickets at Dunbar Theatre (up to a $43 value).
At Dunbar Theatre, upgraded projectors beam films toward the theatre's movie screen. Audience members can watch from the theatre's balcony, or relax in the orchestra’s rows of comfortable seats as they pull up armrests to cuddle their significant others or thumb-wrestle strangers. Meanwhile, kernels pop at the theatre's concession stand, where staff members pour popcorn into buckets perfect for sharing with seat neighbours during the film (not included with the cost of this Groupon).
Moviegoers can choose to bring three friends for a single cinema outing or construct dioramas of their favourite scenes during multiple visits. Theatre patrons should check the schedule for showtimes and arrive at the theatre 30 minutes early Sunday–Thursday or 45 minutes early Friday–Saturday to have time to ensure seating and introduce themselves to each popcorn kernel.
Dunbar Theatre's ticket prices vary throughout the week.

About The Dunbar Theatre
Named one of WestJet Magazine's Five Iconic Movie Theatres, The Dunbar Theatre keeps things simple: top first-run films, fresh popcorn, comfortable seats, a friendly staff, and one big screen. But in simplicity is something fresh. Those newly installed seats have enough room that audiences can stretch their legs, armrests raise for cuddling, and a balcony lets viewers change up their sightlines. Old-fashioned styles aside, the movie house stays up-to-date with recently upgraded projection technology and a sound system with the clarity of 10,000 Morgan Freemans. Located near UBC, the theatre is within walking distance of numerous diners and cafes, making it a date-night no-brainer. As one of the few remaining independently owned movie theaters in Vancouver, The Dunbar Theatre also offers specials, including free movie giveaways, to fans of their Facebook page.
