Q:

To purchase a Legal Will to do on line, how can it be legal, when anyone could do it on line. Does the person have to download it and take it to a notary or a lawyer. If not, I could do one for my neighbour. Please clarify as I would like to purchase one.

Hi Lynda, Thanks for your email. This is Michael from www.DynamicLegalForms.com. So here's how it works: 1. You create a person and secure account on our website. 2. You go through the online questionnaire 3. When you're done, you can download and print off a custom-tailored .pdf Will 4. You need to follow the signing instructions at the end of the Will to sign the Will property in front of appropriate witnesses. 5. You can read the eBook that comes with the Will to better understand the legal requirements for Wills in your province and how Wills can be challenged. 6. There is no legal requirement for a lawyer or notary to be involved in drafting, witnessing or notarizing a Will in Canada. Hope this helps!

Q:

can you have more than one representive for a will

sylvia r.  asked on  Jan 2, 2013

Hi Sylvia, Thanks for your question. This is Michael from www.DynamicLegalForms.com. The Will-O-Matic allows you to have up to two (2) estate trustees and two (2) substitute estate trustees. It's generally recommended to have at least 1 primary and 1 substitute (in case the primary estate trustee is unable or unwilling to act). Keep in mind, however, that the more people you put in this role, the more likely it becomes that there may be infighting, delay, and additional costs (even litigation). Hope this helps!

Q:

Hi there, can my husband and I prepare a joint will? I'm not sure what it means when it says "Each spouse must have their own Groupon". And, why would one need to purchase up to 10 of these packages - wouldn't one be enough? Sorry, we've never done a will before, so apologies if these are silly questions...thanks for your help!

Anna G.  asked on  Jan 2, 2013

A:

Hi Anna, Thanks for your question (it's asked quite a lot, so don't feel bad). Each person requires their own voucher and Will. Joint Wills are not recommended and our Will-O-Matic cannot be used (thankfully) to allow people to create a joint Will. Since only 50% of Canadians have a valid and up to date Will, people tend to buy Will vouchers for family and friends as well. It's all part of that New Year's resolution of getting your legal affairs in order! Hope this helps!

Q:

Hello Michael. Once the "Power of Attorney Wizard" is released in two weeks, will you be offering a package deal that would include both the "Will-O-Matic" and "Power of Attorney" wizards?

LMercier  asked on  Jan 3, 2013

A:

Hi L., At this point, I don't think I'll be combining the two products. The Will-O-Matic is our most popular product and does not need to be combined with any other legal form in order to sell (over 10,000 sold last year). People who have used it see how great it is. Once the Power of Attorney Wizard is released, it will be sold directly on the website for $26 (so it's still affordable).

Q:

I would like to give a will kit to a friend in another country since he does not have one and it makes me nervous. Would this be a valid document for a person residing in another country and is it possible to purchase one for a friend to complete? LC

Linda C.  asked on  Jan 2, 2013

A:

Hi Linda, Thanks for your question. This is Michael from DynamicLegalForms.com. The Will-O-Matic is provincially based and it cannot be used for people with assets in multiple jurisdictions or outside of Canada. Hope this helps. If the Will-O-Matic is appropriate for a friend's situation, you may purchase as many vouchers as you like to give to him / her.

Q:

Hi - Does this package include will, living will and power of attorney? When we did our (now outdated) wills 5 years ago, we prepared all three of these documents together. Is this one package? Or would we need to update those other documents separately? Thanks for your time, L.

L S.  asked on  Jan 2, 2013

A:

Hi L, Thanks for your question. This is Michael from www.DynamicLegalForms.com. The package only includes use of our proprietary Will-O-Matic software. We are releasing our Power of Attorney Wizard for Canada in about 2 weeks time and it will sell for $26 as well. Hope this helps.
