What You'll Get
Flying is a lot like having a staring contest: even with utter concentration, you’ll never be better at it than birds. Go toe-to-beak with our winged companions with today’s Groupon to Eagle Aircraft, based at the Porter County Regional Airport in Valparaiso. Choose between the following options:
- For $49, you get a 20-minute discovery flight experience (a $99 value).
- For $84, you get a 60-minute discovery flight experience (a $169 value).<p>
The discovery flight experience allows tender-footed aeronauts to take to the skies under the watchful eyes of a licensed pilot. Each lesson begins with an overview of basic operations, where the pupil learns about controls, takeoff, climbing, descending, landing, and dodging high-bouncing kangaroos. A pre-flight inspection of a Cessna 172 Sp Skyhawk or Cessna 162 Skycatcher follows, and then the student and instructor say goodbye to solid ground for logable airtime; the actual length of the flight may vary slightly depending on loading time. Following flights, participants receive a log-book with their recorded flying times to use toward future certification or street-cred points at Top Gun viewing parties. Passengers may bring along a third guest, free of charge, as long as the total weight of passengers is not over 550 pounds.
