About Earthworks Pottery
While teaching at Anne Arundel Community College in the late 90s, Jim Privitera began working with clay and he's been hooked ever since. Today, as an active member of the Blue Ridge Potters Guild, Jim shares his wisdom with others during classes at Earthworks Pottery, which he opened in 2007. There, children and adults can learn about the craft, trying their hands at everything from building to slab construction to the potter's wheel. Weekly open studio sessions allow registered students to get creative on their own time, and an on-site gallery displays many of Jim's pieces—including home decor items—for purchase.
