I loved it. I had not rode a horse for years and the young lady that took me around on the horse was very patient and kind. I really enjoyed talking with her as I rode. She made me feel at ease and had a real good relationship with the horse.

Very friendly, and you tell they really cared about their horses. It was a good experience for my children.

What You'll Get

Contrary to conventional wisdom, one can in fact look a gift horse in the mouth, now that the mouth no longer houses the retina-scorching nuclear reactor that powers the horse. Get an eyeful of equine incisors with this Groupon: for $25, you get a 30-minute guided horseback ride at East Coast Equestrian Training Center in Virginia Beach (a $50 value). More than one Groupon may be purchased for riding groups of up to six people or to extend the experience to a 60-minute ride.

The highly skilled guides at East Coast Equestrian Training Centers lead riders of all skill levels on 30-minute expeditions around the winding mulch paths or obstacle course at their 100-acre facility. After plying humans aged 2 and older with the necessary safety gear, including a helmet and a "stop" button, staff members select a horse for them based on comfort level and experience. Knowledgeable jockeys may act as hands-on guides for newbie equestrians walking the scenic outdoor paths or supervise more experienced riders at the facility’s outdoor obstacle course. East Coast Equestrian Training Centers asks that all riders wear closed-toe shoes for the experience, such as tennis shoes, hiking boots, or scuba fins. In the event of bad weather, rides will take place in the 130’x270’ indoor arena.
