Horses require human guidance to keep from brushing against barbed wire, eating poisonous rocks, and galloping triumphantly into the ocean. Take the reins with this Groupon.

Choose from Four Options

  • $49 for one one-hour private horseback-riding lesson (a $100 value)
  • $139 for three one-hour horseback-riding lessons (a $300 value)
  • $229 for five one-hour horseback-riding lessons (a $500 value)

Taught by one of five qualified instructors, lessons cater to each student's individual experience, whether they're just starting out or looking to improve their competition skills. Throughout the hour, parents can watch from the canopied deck overlooking the outdoor arena.

During daylong camps, kids learn to ride and care for horses while making friends and building self-confidence. Sessions meet Monday–Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., culminating in a one-hour horse show for friends and family, in which campers show off their skills learned throughout the week, from basic riding skills to postmodern deconstructions of Black Beauty.

East Cobb Stables

Since 1959, East Cobb Stables' 3.5-acre parcel located in the Georgian suburbs has served as an idyllic classroom for students to learn the timeless, unconditional bond between a man and his equines. The resident horses enjoy vigorous exercise on two outdoor rings, where visitors learn tacking up and perfect the techniques of the hunter-jumper discipline. Imparting grooming, tacking, and riding techniques during lessons, a stable of five instructors molds pupils from all backgrounds and age groups into bona fide equestrians, calling upon years of varied experience to share the secrets of taming the wild puppeteers that live within each horse.
